PRINCE2® Qualifications and Exams
There are two PRINCE2® qualifications; Foundation and Practitioner. Both qualifications are gained through examination.
The Foundation qualification covers the basic content and operation of the PRINCE2® method. It is recommended for staff working on, or in support of projects. The Foundation exam is a one-hour multiple choice exam.
The Practitioner exam is a three-hour, open book exam, conducted using a complex multiple choice format known as objective testing. The exam is designed to test the candidate’s ability to apply the PRINCE2® method to real life situations. The Practitioner qualification is recommended for anybody who has or who aspires to project management responsibilities e.g. team leaders, project managers and project directors.
Candidates wishing to sit the Practitioner exam must first pass the Foundation exam.
The syllabus for Foundation and Practitioner Courses and the associated exams are set by APMG-International, who administer the PRINCE2® qualifications on behalf of the UK Government.
