Introduction to Risk Management
Purpose and target audience
To provide participants with a thorough understanding of the basic principles, concepts and techniques of risk management. The course assumes no prior knowledge of risk management and is suitable for the complete beginner.
Detailed objectives
To ensure participants,
- understand the basic concepts of risk and risk management
- develop a working knowledge of AS/NZS 4360 and ISO 31000
- learn some basic risk management techniques
- understand the importance of effective risk management procedures
- understand how a well thought out approach to risk can improve their working lives
- know where to look for further information and learning.
Duration
Two days.
Materials
Each participant will be provided with a learning pack to support the presentation.
Course structure and approach
The course consists of presentations, discussions and exercises and is structured around the new International Standard on risk management, ISO 31000.
Participant numbers
The course can be conducted with any number of participants up to a maximum of sixteen.
